[rhelv6-list] what does hostid return?

If you're looking at the output of the 'hostid' program in RHEL6, most
likely it's the IP address returned by gethostbyname(), represented in
hexadecimal, unless you've set it specifically with sethostid().  Look at
the man page for gethostid(3).
