[RHN Outage Announcement] unscheduled RHN Satellite XMLRPC outage announcement

UNSCHEDULED RHN SATELLITE CONNECTION OUTAGE NOTICE
==================================================

The Red Hat Network's RHN Satellite XMLRPC service entry point,
satellite.rhn.redhat.com, experienced a complete outage for 15 hours and
a partial outage for an additional 8 hours. This outage only effected
newer RHN Satellites (v3.6 and greater). I.e., those that utilize
satellite.rhn.redhat.com and not xmlrpc.rhn.redhat.com as their entry
point to RHN.

    Date/Time:
             1. 2005-03-02 15:00-06:00 EST (approximate)
               (2005-03-02 20:00-11:00 GMT)
             2. 2005-03-03 06:00-14:00 EST (approximate)
               (2005-03-03 11:00-19:00 GMT)

    Reason: issues arising from configuration complexity of one component
            of new hardward deployment.
    Resolution: issue was resolved in parts leading to a complete
                resolution

RHN service is fully operational now.
