[rhn-users] Upgrading MySQL

Hi-

To take advantage of the sub select implementation in MySQL 4.x, I'd
like to upgrade. I'm running a Red Hat Enterprise 3.0 ES box with
3.23.58....
> $ mysql --version
> mysql Ver 11.18 Distrib 3.23.58, for redhat-linux-gnu (i386)

I know it's not supported by Red Hat, but a PHP application I'm
developing needs to use sub selects. I know I could use in_array, but I
don't want to have an indefinite number of select statements execute
until there is a result that satisfies that the in_array while
statement.

Can anyone offer any suggestions about how to upgrade the rpm? An hour
or two downtime is acceptable and I will do a full mysqldump before
starting in case anything goes wrong.

Thanks in advance,

-Ted
