No tape in device or other problem with tape in device /dev/st0.

 From tar point of view, the tape is just not writable.

Try cleaning the drive.

If you donnot see any troubles with the tape (it is inserted, it is loaded, it 
is writable and such) then use the `mt` command to scan the drive (see `man mt` 
for details).
