I currently do NOT have a Linux machine, but I managed using NERO to
burn the ISO file as an image

It is working

Itzu, 

Try burning the iso image using cdrecord on a linux system. It's
relatively painless: 
        First find out what device the burner is using: cdrecord
-scanbus 
        
        Using the device number, burn the iso: 
        cdrecord -v dev=x,x,x speed=xx filetoburn.iso (Where x is the
number    of the device reported by cdrecord -scanbus and the speed of
the        burner)
