Subject: [rhn-users] FC4 yum update killed video - dell laptop

Hey all, running a Dell Inspiron 300m, did a large yum update (several x
packages) and on restart run level 5 is dead. I can barely make out the
bios/boot screen.

Xorg.0 log ended with
(WW) I810(0) xf86BindGARTMemory: binding of gart memory with key 8 at
offset 0x0 failed (invalid argument)

Fatal Server Error:
AddScreen/ScreenInit failed for driver 0

---------------------
lcpci shows it as:
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82852/855GM
Integrated Graphics Devide (rev 02) (prog-if 00 [VGA])

00:02.1 Display Controller: Intel Corporation 82852/855GM Integrated
Graphics Devide (rev 02)
----------------------

Tried booting from the old kernel with the same results so I assume one
of the x packages did this.

Any thoughts / ideas to help is appreciated.
