Hi,

You should disable the IDE compatibility settings of your SATA
controller at the BIOS setup of the machine and let it (the controller)
act as a true SATA controller disabling the IDE emulation.

Select Enchanced for the SATA Mode, enable the SATA RAID mode (despite
not using RAID at all) and select Adaptec as ICH RAID Code Base.

RHEL will load the 'ahci' driver and you'll see your drives as sda, sdb
and so on.

Hi,

Red Hat 4 Enterprise Edition does not detect MaXtor 160GB SATA hard
disk. 
Is there is any driver to make it work.
