The Red Hat Network (RHN) account will support as many systems as the subscriber has active entitlements. If a contract is not renewed and an entitlement lapses, a system will be dropped from its base channel in Red Hat Network. This is done on a last-in, first-out basis. In other words, the last system registered in RHN will lose its base entitlement first. For example, if the subscriber has 3 server subscriptions and 2 desktop subscription, and one server subscription lapsed, then the last server system that has been registered would lose its base channel. In the event that a system loses its entitlement, and the specific system needs the update more than another system, the next course of action would be to delete the unwanted system profile then re-assign the channel entitlement to the system needing to be updated. Hope this helps. - Paresh On Mon, 2008-06-09 at 12:04 +0100, Ian Stirling wrote: > I have several systems registered to RHN and have just received (via the previous custodian of this setup) > a note advising that one of the licenses is about to expire in 90 days. > > I have identified the license in RHN but cannot find a way to relate this to the system that is actually > registered against this license. > > Is there a way to find this out > > _______________________________________________ > rhn-users mailing list > rhn-users at redhat.com > https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/rhn-users From mlamar at co.walton.ga.us Tue Jun 10 14:00:46 2008 From: mlamar at co.walton.ga.us (Lamar Milligan) Date: Tue, 10 Jun 2008 10:00:46 -0400 Subject: [rhn-users] RHN Registration Errors Message-ID: I have read previous threads concerning yum errors and RHN problems. If so, with the RHEL3 box you can try running # up2date -p # up2date --hardware and on the RHEL5 box # rhn-profile-sync to update the package profiles and hardware lists on RHN.
