I had gone through the link you sent before. But could get the clear idea on "connecting to RHn more frequently than once every 120 ses". Does that mean that, from once connection to another connection there should be atleast 120 min Interval. just for testing purpose, I tired login to RHN from my 2 different machines with the same redhat sid file, I am able to login. The abuse has to be sustained over a fairly substantial period of time before it kicks in. But having something like puppet check with RHN every minute can certainly do it. I do not remember the exact number, but you need to have connected many many many times to hit this issue, either over a long period of time with frequent connections, or with a short burst where you did 1000's of connections to trip this. Typically a script of some sort is miss configured or running too frequently. Suggestion, login to RHN, delete system. Re-run rhn_register to register system in question back to RHN. OR try opening a support ticket before doing anything. Cliff > > I don't recall the exact details of this but you really can't trip > this by doing anything "by hand." Looking at RHN it looks like each xen guest is using a "real" software channel entitlement whenever I register them using rhnregister_ks. I was under the impression that a dom0 with the virtualization entitlement could host up to 4 guests without using additional entitlements. I've reset (deleted and killed /etc/sysconfig/rhn/system_id) on both the dom0 and the guest and after I register the dom0, when I try to register the guest it keeps trying to take up a software channel entitlement that it shouldn't be asking for. The guest has rhn-virtualization-common-1.0.1-53 installed and the host has both that and rhn-virtualization-host-1.0.1-53 installed. Actually, that didn't work. After digging around, I figured out that I hadn't added the separate Virtualization System entitlement to my dom0's system profile (different from the actual virtualization software channel). > > -----Original Message----- > From: rhn-users-bounces at redhat.com [mailto:rhn-users-bounces at redhat.com] > On Behalf Of Peter C. As for using a proxy, I've heard some interpretation that ANY system that touches the cardholder data environment then falls under PCI scope, meaning that *it* wouldn't be able to access the internet directly, either. PCI is a big mess, and while the vagaries make it so that you aren't too restricted, it also leaves a lot of holes for interpretation. That being said, is a local satellite server in your budget? We've decided to get one here locally for other reasons (my PCI systems are still Solaris at the moment), but I see having a local Sat. system as being one more plus in keeping traffic outside to a minimum. jef On Nov 21, 2008, at 7:05 AM, Andy Loughran wrote: > Guys, > > I have a a cluster of 3 Servers.. two are CentOS, and one is RHEL5 > ( the > DB server).
