From mbann at cems.umn.edu Wed Oct 1 19:08:24 2008 From: mbann at cems.umn.edu (Mike Bann) Date: Wed, 01 Oct 2008 14:08:24 -0500 Subject: [rhn-users] rhn rpm database sync? Message-ID: <48E3CAA8.4090509@cems.umn.edu> Folks, I had to partition off space for /var a couple days ago (was just one big chunk of memory before). I copied all the files over from the old /var space to the new partition and everything seemed fine. However, redhat has now forgotten what packages I have. I've tried rpm --rebuilddb . It exits immediately with no errors. rpm -qa shows no packages (but i have a bunch of them obviously). Is there a way that rhn can tell my system what packages it has? rhn-profile-sync does something similar, but the opposite direction. Thanks! How can I subscribe to it? Is it a beta channel that is not recommended for production? Regards. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... One of those is a xen host with two guests. On 10-22 it appears that Red Hat removed the base and child channel subscriptions from one of those guests. The unsubscribe events are logged in the event history for that machine. The only difference between these two guests is that the one that had its subscriptions removed was turned off at the time of the event while the one that was left unchanged was running at the time. Any chance someone could comment on what is going on with RHN? John
