From sjohnson at santarosa.edu Wed Jul 7 18:18:39 2010 From: sjohnson at santarosa.edu (Johnson Steven) Date: Wed, 7 Jul 2010 11:18:39 -0700 Subject: [rhn-users] RH5 Boxes not updateing.. In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: This is failing again, this time on the firefox security update from June 25th.. According to RPM I am at the latest version, but RHN tells me I need to update, so I queue it up for an update and then run rhn_check and rhn_check tells me the latest is already installed, and then I get the red ! on RHN's web page again with the same package needing updated.. Before this was only happening on RHEL5, now I am seeing it on RHEL4 and 5.. the 'yum clean all' isn't working this time... Any ideas? Also should I not be using rhn_check? I see others use yum instead.. is there a big difference? Thanks. -Steve -----Original Message----- From: rhn-users-bounces at redhat.com [mailto:rhn-users-bounces at redhat.com] On Behalf Of Johnson Steven Sent: Monday, April 05, 2010 11:24 AM To: Discussions about Red Hat Network (rhn.redhat.com) Subject: Re: [rhn-users] RH5 Boxes not updateing.. Do you run 'yum clean all' first? After running that, try your yum updates. daryl -- /** * Daryl Herzmann * Assistant Scientist -- Iowa Environmental Mesonet * http://mesonet.agron.iastate.edu */ _______________________________________________ rhn-users mailing list rhn-users at redhat.com https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/rhn-users _______________________________________________ rhn-users mailing list rhn-users at redhat.com https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/rhn-users From akrherz at iastate.edu Wed Jul 7 18:26:06 2010 From: akrherz at iastate.edu (daryl herzmann) Date: Wed, 7 Jul 2010 13:26:06 -0500 (CDT) Subject: [rhn-users] RH5 Boxes not updateing.. Running rhn_check is okay, but there are so many bugs with the RHN interaction and scheduling, 'yum' is probably your best tool in this case. daryl From sjohnson at santarosa.edu Wed Jul 7 19:09:44 2010 From: sjohnson at santarosa.edu (Johnson Steven) Date: Wed, 7 Jul 2010 12:09:44 -0700 Subject: [rhn-users] RH5 Boxes not updateing.. In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: Okay got it to work.. What I had to do was the following.. yum update rhn-profile-sync rhn_check This got it to work.. the yum update installed an xulrunner update.. I think this fixed it.. even though I am not sure what xulrunner is. :) -Steve -----Original Message----- From: rhn-users-bounces at redhat.com [mailto:rhn-users-bounces at redhat.com] On Behalf Of Johnson Steven Sent: Wednesday, July 07, 2010 12:10 PM To: Discussions about Red Hat Network (rhn.redhat.com) Subject: Re: [rhn-users] RH5 Boxes not updateing.. >Hi, > >Does 'rhn-profile-sync' help your situation? > >Running rhn_check is okay, but there are so many bugs with the RHN >interaction and scheduling, 'yum' is probably your best tool in this case. > >daryl I tried rhn-profile-sync with no luck.. -Steve _______________________________________________ rhn-users mailing list rhn-users at redhat.com https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/rhn-users From jsantana at csulb.edu Thu Jul 8 17:01:02 2010 From: jsantana at csulb.edu (Jesse Santana) Date: Thu, 8 Jul 2010 10:01:02 -0700 Subject: [rhn-users] AUTO: Jesse Santana/AdminFinance/CSULB is out of the office.
