[rhn-users] rhn update release metadata?

Right, but RHN must pass some meta-data description to satellite (or other consumers) so that complete update releases can be applied to nodes at once.
For instance completely patching from RHEL 5.3 to RHEL 5.4.

What I am wondering is other than what the actual ISO contains what is the meta-data that RHN uses to describe the update?
Or does RHN not have the ability to pass along complete update description data to define that atom update action?

Thanks,
Dan

in short no. Maintenance releases are defined due to the ISO being
released, which for RHN coincides with the fact that a huge amount of
Errata is released that same day into said channels.
