Here is what I asked their tech support guy: Ok, this sounds a bit stupid, but is there a website / documentation that explains the benefits of using a driver like this? Ultimately I'm looking to get emails when the hardware detects a drive is down or not doing well. Beyond that I care about performance, and possibly the ability of the file system to automatically grow should I throw in more hard drives. But I'm unsure if I get all this by installing a driver.
