Hello,

If you mean system files

you can restrict Access to files with User privilege or Group privilege

in other words, it can be readable only by owner and root user

so any1 else will not be able to read it.

and you can use something like SUDO or PRIV to give certain users certain access to it

Regards
Samer

On 7/9/07, Mahalingam Subramaniam

how to protect the directories with passwords which should be aprt from the sytem's root password which means that even in the absence of sysadmin (the environment in which sys admin is supposed to leave the password while on leave) whoever logs in to the system should not be able to gain the access to the directories which are protected with different passwords.
