PCMCIA not shut down

I have the following problem when I shut down my laptop with Xircom 10/100
Ethernet 56k modem.
Seems like it's about the serial/modem on the card.
Eth0 is stopped ok at anytime, and everything works when it's all running.
I also checked the runlevels.

I run Red Hat 7.1. All updates done. Kernel 2.4.18.

Stopping pcmcia: cardmgr[630]: executing: './serial check ttyS3'
cardmgr[630]: executing: './serial check ttyS3'
ttyS3 unloaded

( here nothings happen at all )
( When I take out the pcmcia card I see this> )

spurious 8259A interrupt: IRQ7.

( and I must switch off the laptop )
