<br>
During the last week we had our first Skydive Hackaton. It has been a really productive week in term of code for sure but also in term of ideas, use cases discussed.<br>
Here a summary of what has been done during the week:<br>
<br>
- Tunneling support has been added. It's a first step but GRE and VXLAN tunnel are supported. It means that we can now follow a flow inside a tunnel.<br></blockquote><div><br></div><div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif">Can I file a feature request for Geneve support? :-)</div></div><div> </div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0 0 0 .8ex;border-left:1px #ccc solid;padding-left:1ex">
- The packet injection[1] feature is on the way. We did some test with it being able to generate a ping and to follow it along the path.<br>
- Some work has been done in order to improve the metrics capture and reporting. A Grafana datasource plugin will be available soon.<br>
- Work on improving the WebUI has started too, like being able to collapse/expand groups.<br>
- Introducing a shell[2] for the command line client with completion helping user to start with the Gremlin language.<br>
- Support of nested environments[3] like hypervisor hosting VMs hosting containers.<br>
<br>
Major topics discussed :<br>
<br>
- Documentation improvements, mapping between the code and the architecture document. A place where all the features are described.<br>
- Open the graph API to external tools.<br>
- Introducing interface metrics.<br>
- Discussion around a filtering mechanism in order to display only certain type of nodes in the WebUI.<br>
- Discussion about templates or aliases for Gremlin query in order to help user to construct their own set of requests.<br></blockquote><div><br></div><div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;display:inline">Sounds like a great week!
