[Spacewalk-list] Issue after re-ip?

!$#!@#$%^#

I missed that one! I feel slow and stupid now.

Yes the hostname is the same but /etc/hosts didn't reflect the correct new IP.

It's all good now.

Can users drop F bombs in this list? ;p

Thanks Bob. Many thanks!

I assume your hostname did not change on the re-ip? I had a similar
problem with tomcat having trouble with all sorts of things this
morning. The problem ended up being in /etc/hosts, where the correct
hostname was not listed. Hope this helps.

The tomcat5 logs are stored in /var/log/tomcat5.

Good luck,

Bob

I also noticed that the oracle net listener takes a long time to start
up. Up to 15 mins in this case.

Could this be the culprit?

Also, anyone know where the tomcat5 logs are stored?

Thanks

We re-ip'd our test network recently.

Since then, I've had trouble successfully signing on to the web
interface.

I simply get a blank page for /rhn/Login.do and the ssl_access_log shows
500 for the return

It's worked fine all this time and I've been modifying the kickstart to
include the CIS Security benchmarking recommendations. After the re-ip,
I wasn't even able to log back in.

Any suggestions on what I should look at?

I did some poking around in the services and checked the status of them.
The only one that seemed odd was this

# ./rhn-database status
Can't open config file '/etc/rhn/default/rhn_web.conf': Permission
denied at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8/PXT/Config.pm line 70.
Compilation failed in require at
/usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8/Dobby/DB.pm line 18.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at
/usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8/Dobby/DB.pm line 18.
Compilation failed in require at
/usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8/Dobby/CLI/MiscCommands.pm line 21.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at
/usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8/Dobby/CLI/MiscCommands.pm line 21.
Compilation failed in require at /usr/bin/db-control line 11.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/bin/db-control line 11.

The same errors are the result of the ./rhn-satellite status. The perms
on /etc/rhn/default/rhn_web.conf are 640 and owned by root/apache.
/etc/rhn is 755 owned by root/group.

Any idea why this occurs? I haven't changed any permissions anywhere on
the system.

Thanks.

Anoop
