I downloaded the solaris 10 tar file for the implmentation on solaris .

Why are we using sol8 libraries on sol10 machines?

I looked on freeware sun and i saw that there are sol10 libraries.

why do we use the nex sol8 packages  in sol 10 systems
SMCzlib-1.2.3-sol8-sparc.pkg
SMClibgcc-3.4.1-sol8-sparc.pkg
