Hrm, are you sure 4u8 is missing?  Looking at the latest version here:

https://fedorahosted.org/spacewalk/wiki/channel-to-update

I see rhel 4u8 data files.

I was going to send you an email asking if you created the data files using your create-channel-from-system.pl script. But then I read this thread, I'll be glad to help if you are still working on the update for 5.4. Also, can you provide some more information about your create-channel-from-system.pl script. I want to create a channel for my Fedora desktops, but I have RPM's from many repo's. I was wondering if the server from where the create-channel-from-system.pl is executed would need access to all these's repo's. How does it download the rpms generated by the rpm -qa... command.
