Never mind, I found the culprit, an obscure firewall rule that I had forgot about.

Subject: Troubles Registering Clients through Proxy Server
Hi All-
I'm having some issues registering clients through an http proxy server. I have successfully registered clients that are on the same LAN as my spacewalk server, however when I try to register a client that needs to travel through an http proxy server, the rhnreg_ks command just hangs. It never times out or gives me an error, I just have to ctrl-c it. I've tried setting http_proxy and using the -proxy option in the command itself, but no dice. Any ideas? Here's what my registration command looks like:
rhnreg_ks --proxy=proxyserver:8080 --serverUrl=http://server.com/XMLRPC --activationkey=1-default
If I check /var/log/update, it doesn't give me any info besides the fact that the connection was aborted by user.
