We had massive problems with the 0.9 proxy and decided to completely
drop and replace it with a standalone squid (e.g.:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=571769, which seems to be
somewhat fixed in 1.0).

The benefits of a sw proxy are imho quite low. It's quite hard to load
balance them (at least jabber) and causes a lot of confusion on tasks
like monitoring (where you have to select the scout manually)

Besides that: are you retrieving any tracebacks?
