... from 1.37. And presumably there is no newer bouncycastle-jdk1.5 to
go with that, and if you upgrade just bouncycastle,
bouncycastle-jdk1.5-1.37-1jpp.1.el5.noarch which stays loses its
dependency.

I don't think you need those bouncycastle* packages at all:

# cat /etc/redhat-release 
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.4 (Tikanga)
# rpm -qa | grep bouncy | wc -l
0
# rpm -q spacewalk-oracle
spacewalk-oracle-1.1.2-1.el5

So I would try just removing them before upgrade, or exclude them
from the upgrade.
