I don't have no such error on my RHEL 5.5 with jabberd-2.2.11-1.el5.
And grepping through my installation says

	# rpm -ql jabberd | xargs grep disco-publish
	/usr/share/doc/jabberd-2.2.11/UPGRADE:Remove <module>disco-publish</module> lines from your sm.xml.

so I believe you have configuration from older jabberd than 2.2.10.
from that old jabberd).

Pushing remote commands works for me.

That's why I've included the command to clear the database in the
steps to do.
