ok, i have redone my channel tree to what you suggested and resetup the
kickstart distro and profiles, and the good news is that
I see the repos now being added into the kickstart file when I view the
kickstart file in spacewalk.
i see them as
repo --name=rhel-cluster-suite ....
repo --name=rhel-virtualization...
repo --name=cusom-stuff ....

btw, these  still show up under "child channels" instead of
"repositories".  And I have all those "child channels" selected under
"operating system".
Im not sure if thats right or not..
but anyway, when I try to use my custom @groupname  to install certain
rpm groups in the kickstart, I get an error message for each one during
the kickstart saying that theyre not available..
