[Spacewalk-list] Seeing a couple of problems when trying to do updates

Spacewalk 1.3
centos 5.5 base 64bit
centos 5.5 updates 64bit

After download updates for the above two channels I need to remove
files(why do i need to do this?)

rm -rf /var/cache/rhn/repodata/$channel

Then wait a couple of minutes for the directories to populate again -
filelists.xml.gz  other.xml.gz  primary.xml.gz  repomd.xml

Clean yum up on the client
yum clean metadata
yum clean all

When I try to do updates I get dependency problems on a number of packages

Error: Missing Dependency: libpopt.so.0()(64bit) is needed by package
tux-3.2.18-9.fc6.x86_64 (installed)

All related too libpopt.so.0()(64bit)
