Hello Vladimir,

you mix 2 mechanisms.
- one is to schedule a command to be executed on the client
- another one are periodic actions scheduled on the server (taskomatic)

Both are different mechanisms using completely different code, having 
not much in common.

Not sure, what problem you get with updating packages on clients.(1)
If taskomatic is down, please restart it and check 
/var/log/rhn/rhn_taskomatic_daemon.log. (2)
