I am actually not sure where the protocol is set in 1.4. server_url = %(proto)s://%(server_name)s%(server_handler)s I don't see where proto is set... but I can manually set the sslCACert incorrectly and it still works. That would tell me that it is *not* using SSL, good catch, thanks.
