[Spacewalk-list] Problem updating client

I think I saw a thread somewhere that the GPG key field in the channel only works with the file:/// URL and not http:// and that this is by design.
You could get the key on a machine during kickstart, for example.

Looks like you are using RHEL and spacewalk repos. You need to import those keys to the rpm database on your system.
Check to see if you have the redhat-release key in the /etc/pki/rpm-gpg directory. If you do, then `rpm --import /etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-redhat-release`. It is definitely on the RHEL install ISO. You also may or may not have the key in your /pub directory on your spacewalk server, but you can certainly put it there for convenience.
You also need to do the same for the spacewalk gpg key which is located at http://spacewalk.redhat.com/yum/RPM-GPG-KEY-spacewalk-2012
wget the gpg key and `rpm --import <gpg-key>`

Also you need to add the gpg key to spacewalk and add it to your activation key you are registering against to prevent it from happening again.

Try getting the GPG key from your spacewalk server and importing it:

cd /tmp && wget
http://spacewalkserver.com/pub/RPM-GPG-KEY-redhat-release

rpm --import /tmp/RPM-GPG-KEY-redhat-release

Then try the yum command again.

Obviously, submit the name of your key in, just have a look under /pub to see what’s in there.

Cheers,

I just registered a new client to my Spacewalk 1.7 server and tried to apply updates. Here is the message that I got:

warning: rpmts_HdrFromFdno: Header V4 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID 863a853d

Public key for rhnlib-2.5.51-1.el5.noarch.rpm is not installed

I’ve tried searching a bit for how to handle this error. So far nothing obvious is hitting me for this error related to Spacewalk clients.

Anyone have any idea what I need to do to clean this up? I already tried yum clean all. That made no difference. I suppose I could try excluding that one package and see what happens.

Here’s the repolist info from the client:
