We use “activation keys” for the purpose of subscribing hosts to different base and child channels. In a “activation key” you can specify exactly which base channel and its child channel a host that register using that “activation key” should subscribe to.

No, you have to specify which child channels the host should subscribe to.

Missing important question, are the child channels subscribed automatically when I subscribe a parent/base channel to a system?.
