[Spacewalk-list] Fedora 16 client not getting updates from Spacewalk 1.6

Jonathan,
   Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately, I have tried that and it does not work.

The steps that I have taken are:

# yum clean all
# cd /var/cache/yum
# rm -Rf ./*
# yum makecache
# yum check-update

With the /etc/yum/repos.d/fedora-updates.repo turned off (enable=0), I don't receive any messages stating that there are RPMs to receive and apply. If I turn fedora-updates.repo on, the I get a list.

Whatever the problem is, it just recently occurred. Up until approximately a week ago, I was able to update F16 from Spacewalk without any issues.

I even tried removing the spacewalk-client RPMs, re-installing them and re-registering the client. Still no luck.

Alan

If you run 'rm -rf /var/cache/yum/i686/16/*' on the client, does that fix it?

I haven't upgraded to SW 1.6, but on 1.5, the yum cache for yum-rhn-plugin is not properly cleared by 'yum clean all', and it may take some time for the client to update it's cache of the available packages from SW.

Hi.
I've encountered an interesting issue with Spacewalk 1.6 and Fedora16. If I run yum check-update, the F16 client doesn't see the available packages in the Spacewalk repository. If I logon to the Spacewalk GUI, Spacewalk will report that there are available RPMs for updating.

If I activate the fedora-updates.repo and run yum check-update, updated packages are seen and reported as available for download and applying.

I'm confused. I'm not seeing anything in any log files that would give me an indication that there is a problem. Of course, I may not be looking in the correct locations.
