All,

We are seeing an issue where repo metadata is not being processed, which
has been made more visible since setting up a dev channel populated by
rhnpush. This channel updated frequently yet systems not always seeing
new package even though there in the gui. When we restart taskomatic
generally we see queued ChannelRepodata tasks

INFO | jvm 1 | 2014/06/11 10:19:03 | 2014-06-11 10:19:03,809
[DefaultQuartzScheduler_Worker-6] INFO
com.redhat.rhn.taskomatic.task.ChannelRepodata - In the queue: 3

and finally sees channel modifications

INFO | jvm 1 | 2014/06/11 10:19:04 | 2014-06-11 10:19:04,282
[Thread-51] INFO com.redhat.rhn.taskomatic.task.repomd.RepositoryWriter
- File Modified Date:2014-06-10 23:55:51 EST

and off it goes again and starts the regeneration process but not sure
why its taking sometimes before it actually sees these modifications.
Other times is sees the modifications fine and regenerates .. the
inconsistency is frustrating and cant track down whats causing it. Even
upped to DEBUH in the rhn_taskomatic.conf but nothing useful seen, JVM
pings all being seen ok .. ErrataMailer processes.

Seeing plenty of mail outs about errata but seems like the repo/yum
metadata tasks just stop being processed or sidelined. Have tried
searching for information about taskomatic but there doesnt seem much
information out there.

Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this ?? Is there a way to
view tasks in the queue ?? Am wondering whether the
com.redhat.rhn.taskomatic.task.ErrataMailer is just overloading system
.. is there anyway to just have this done once a day ?? Any help /
pointer to useful doco would be appreciated.

rgds

Matt Bryant
