Ours is a fresh install, just as you mention running on RHEL 6.5 64bit, and we haven’t seen the disappearing kickstarts, of course, we’re having to manually create them because Oracle’s repo doesn’t provide them. We use Satellite 5.6 for RHEL, and they’re not disappearing there either.

Do you get the kickstart tree from CentOS, Fedora or somewhere else?

Subject: [Spacewalk-list] Kickstarts disappearing after reboot & not working

Hi All,

Recently we started deploying spacewalk 2.1 as a clean install instead of upgrading from 1.9.

Things seemed to work ok until we did a yum update on the spacewalk server about 2 weeks ago then kickstarts stopped working and would disappear completely after a reboot.

Trawling through logs shows no evidence of why this occurs…

I have reinstalled spacewalk 2.1 fresh 3 times to eliminate the possibility of config error. Even with a fresh install one base channel and one kickstart the problem persists.

Has anyone else experienced this ?

Thanks,
