Hi Michael

Well during normal operation free memory is not much but not alarming. 
Closer inspection shows a LOT of swapping though during an actual 
metadata generation. So most likely it is an out of memory error after 
all, it's just weird that it doesn't show up in the logs.

We've just upped the system's memory and will keep monitoring and 
increasing if/where necessary. Thanks for the replies :)
