[Spacewalk-list] Unable to login when preforming updates

Avi,

Thank you for the reply. That was very helpful. I did find a up2date file that I had not changed the FQDN in, and as soon as I changed it, the updates work using HTTPS.

Thank you for the help.

Daryl

Hi,

On 5 Aug 2015, at 12:58 am, Daryl Rose <darylrose at outlook.com<mailto:darylrose at outlook.com>> wrote:

My foggy memory told me that it was something in the up2date file. I was thinking that it was because the server needed to be FQDN, but that didn't resolve the issue. Finally, it, just came to me. The url is http, not https. As soon as I removed the "s", I was able to access the repository.

Except the URL should be HTTPS. Everything in Spacewalk works over HTTPS. If your setup is not working, I would check the usual suspects of FQDN everywhere and time synchronisation. SSL fails if the time is out of sync between server and client.

Your original email also shows a Fatal error in Python on the client. Have you checked /var/log/up2date to see what the Python backtrace shows?

Cheers,
Avi
