Hey - I have the same problem to cope with. I couldn't test this solution yet - but this is what I found:

https://forums.suse.com/showthread.php?6674-Cannot-update-SLES-11-SP3&p=29121#post29121

seems the SUSE Patch for Migration to SP4 is broken. You have to do this workaround. Very unlikely.

Betreff: [Spacewalk-list] SLES 11 SP4 Upgrade

Hi,

I am trying to upgrade SLES 11 SP3 to SP4 with spacewalk. I know there is a button in the Suse Manager for this, but not in Spacewalk. So I tried the zypper way but the installation of the package sles-release fails:

myserver:~ # zypper update sles-release
Refreshing service 'spacewalk'.
Loading repository data...
Reading installed packages...
Resolving package dependencies...

Problem: product:SUSE_SLES-11.3-1.138.x86_64 requires sles-release = 11.3-1.138, but this requirement cannot be provided
Solution 1: deinstallation of product:SUSE_SLES-11.3-1.138.x86_64
Solution 2: do not install sles-release-11.3-1.201.x86_64
Solution 3: break product:SUSE_SLES-11.3-1.138.x86_64 by ignoring some of its dependencies

Choose from above solutions by number or cancel [1/2/3/c] (c): c

I think the problem might be some missing product information in the repository metadata (products.xml). If this is the problem, how can I create the missing metadata?

I tried with Spacewalk 2.2 and 2.3 and I have all Suse Repos synced.

Anyone successfully upgraded SP3 to SP4 using Spacewalk?

Regards,
Javier
