[Spacewalk-list] Did any one notice Ubuntu and debian added kickstart support to their installer some time last year

hey Phil

I'm testing some of your scripts so far so good. I'm thinking I may if i
have time write some patches to some and submit them via a pull request. I
gennerally dont like the idea of putting user names and passwords as
command line options because they show up in ps and top so in my scripts i
alway give users the option to use environment variables for them instead.
That said the ones Ive tested so far are working as well or better than I
expected.
good job! Thanks for publicly publishing them with your blog.

I still haven't gotten around to testing adding kickstart distros but I
will probably get to it in the next coupe of days. when I'm done I intend
to submit a list of RFE's so we can get it to work through the web
interface. the first one is already published here
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1227499 and there will be more
to come. Ive already determined that the list of distros seems to be hard
coded in the page and should be moved to the database in fact there are
already tables in the database which contain most of the information
needed. infact the API uses the database table rhnksinstalltype whats
missing from the database is the breed and list of path information. there
also seems to be a way to add an externally managed kickstart tree that im
looking into next.

The more i think about it though the simplest long term solution would be
for spacewalk to get this information from
http://www.cobblerd.org/signatures/latest.json like cobbler does. could
also allow spacewalk in the future to automatically create a distro tree
from an ISO image.

Does any one else have any ideas on this before I write an RFE?
