Check the mailing list archives - Robert Boyd laid out some nice instructions for synching via certificate exactly one year ago on December 22, 2015 [1]

This doesn't describe how to make the switch from mrepo but if you can figure out how to synch without mrepo you'll likely have no issues figuring out how to make the switch.

Is there documentation for transferring Spacewalk/mrepo from using RHN to using RHSM?

I have a v2.2 install working very well.
