Hello,
rhel-x86_64-server-6 channel contains all updated of RHEL released up to
current date, which means that it will automatically take you to latest
RHEL 6 released (currently 6.9).
If you want to stay on RHEL 6.8 you either have to consume RHEL 6.8 EUS
channel or use spacewalk-clone-by-date utility to clone channel contents
prior release of RHEL 6.9 (which means that cloned channel will be
effectively RHEL 6.8 with all updates). For more information see either
Red Hat Satellite documentation [1] or man spacewalk-clone-by-date.
