[Spacewalk-list] Errata error

The issue with disabling is, when you upgrade the settings for the repos
configurations are re-enabled by the package centos-release-x-y. So, you
have to do the entire disable step again. RedHat and Oracle installs do
not do this, because they expect you to be using Satellite/Spacewalk/other
to manage the server and give you an option to download the repo
information if needed. It would be nice if the centos-release was
separated out into release information and repo rpm...
But until then, as a permanent solution you can put this into all of the
kickstarts and on the servers.

mkdir -p /some/directory/xxxx
echo "reposdir=/some/directory/xxxx" >> /etc/yum.conf
Pros:
Do not have to disable the repo's every time you upgrade the OS.
3rd party applications default to /etc/yum.repos.d. So,
installing these application on servers with intranet only access will not
break or slow down the yum commands.
If the 3rd party application needs access to a yum repo, you can
set the repo up on the spacewalk and manage access through that channel.

Con:
Manual management of files that need to go into
/some/directory/xxxx. If you are not installing many 3rd party apps,
this shouldn't be too big of a con.
- Thanks and good luck

Look into your /etc/yum.repos.d directory and ensure ALL the *.repo files
in there have “enabled = 0”
