No official documentation, but @phils blog (http://www.devops-blog.net/category/spacewalk) is a good starting point when you want to manage Ubuntu clients with spacewalk

This is a "repository" I created just to be able get the spacewalk "clients" to work on a fresh Debian system

[root at srv debian]# ls -l stretch/spacewalk/
insgesamt 736
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 8448 12. Jul 2017 apt-transport-spacewalk_1.0.6-4.1_all.deb
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 79094 12. Jul 2017 python-dmidecode_3.12.2-3_amd64.deb
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 18268 12. Jul 2017 python-ethtool_0.12-1.1_amd64.deb
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 12208 12. Jul 2017 python-gudev_147.2-3_amd64.deb
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 42094 12. Jul 2017 python-newt_0.52.19-1+b1_amd64.deb
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 25568 12. Jul 2017 python-rhn_2.5.72-1_all.deb
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 111380 12. Jul 2017 rhncfg_5.10.73-1_all.deb
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 412508 12. Jul 2017 rhn-client-tools_2.3.5-1_amd64.deb
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 23168 12. Jul 2017 rhnsd_5.0.4-3+b1_amd64.deb
[root at srv debian]#

I think only the "rhncfg" or "rhnsd" package is from a "ubuntu" repository, but works well on Debian.

Of course, you can get newer versions of the packages if available. You should also have the default Debian repositories subscribed, because there
Are a lot of python dependencies that must be solved while you are installing.

Also, create these 2 directories

mkdir -p /var/lib/up2date
mkdir -p /var/spool/rhn/remote-script

Otherwise you won't be able to run custom-scripts via spacewalk on the client.

Just download and manually install these package and try to get started.

Robert

Does anyone have experience or documentation to install spacewalk client and install the packages on Ubuntu/Debian systems?

Thanks
