[Spacewalk-list] System listing in spacewalk 2.6 gui slow

Hey,

Are you running the Oracle provided Spacewalk or the upstream project? If the former and you have Oracle Linux support subscription, I'd suggest logging an SR for this, so our development team can evaluate. We've been doing some work with 2.7 to improve the efficiency of the SQL queries, but we have a lot of queries to evaluate. :)

By logging an SR, you can focus our attention on particular queries. :) If not, I would suggest upgrading to Spacewalk 2.7 because that does have SOME improvements for performance, but I can't guarantee that it's in the areas impacting your install.

Thanks,
Avi

We use it strictly for server patching. Memory got to be an issue, so we upped memory on the server from 32 to 64g and the DBA increased the database sga. We also changed the tomcat JAVA_OPTS -Xms4096m -Xmx8192m. The web interface, when trying to bring up the Systems list, is extremely slow. It is also slow when bringing up lists of packages in repo, but not as slow as the Systems. Other things, repo listing, seem to be ok, and server updates and new registrations are fine. Running the spacewalk-report inventory returns quickly as well.
