Hello Frank,

Spacewalk 2.9 should be able to sync module metadata and provide them to clients.

Check whether modules.yml is in repo you are syncing from.
And then if modules.yml is referenced from repomd.xml on spacewalk
(in /var/cache/rhn/repodata/<channelname>/).
