That was it.  I am paravirtualized.  I am now installing.  Yeah!!!

Did you hit the question about supplying the "installation key?"  

Is there a way to specify to skip this in the kickstart?

yes, for Xen paravirtualized.
hda would be for Xen HVM where emulated IDE drives are used.
