Hi,

     The "access denied" message is an indication of a problem in your 
hosts.allow file.  Try putting "	sendmail: all" in 
/etc/hosts.allow.  Most daemons don't respond at all if they're denied 
there, but sendmail lets you connect but doesn't let you do anything 
useful.
