K* links are responsible for taking down a service when leaving the
runlevel, you need a S??mysqld link, that is:

if in rcX.d there is a link to ../init.d/some-script, and the link name
is S??some-script, then "some-script" will be run as

	some-script start

when *entering* runlevel X; if the link name is K??some-script, then
"some-script" will be run as

	some-script stop

when *leaving* runlevel X

Again: why don't you man chkconfig...?
