Assuming you're using pulse on host, applying the following patch might
help: https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/qemu-devel/2015-09/msg03336.html

When I tried it, most of the delay disappeared. I didn't have any
specific codec options defined, so no idea if those have some effect.
