Having trouble converting VMX to Virt-image.

CentOS 5.5, python-virtinst-0.400.3-9.el5

Running this command with all sorts of variations on path names (absolute/relative) ...

virt-convert -i vmx -o virt-image -D qcow2 --hvm --os-type=linux Smoothwall Smoothwall2

... Invariably produces an error message like this:

Generating output in 'virt-image' format to /data/
Converting disk 'Smoothwall.vmdk' to type qcow2...
ERROR Couldn't convert disks: Disk conversion failed with exit status 256: qemu-img: Could not open '/data/Smoothwall.qcow2'

Similar results using 'qemu-img convert'.

The VMX image (Linux Smoothwall VM) came off an ESXi 4.0 server.

Any suggestions what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks
