Hi,

One of the customer follows the below mentioned [P2V] process to convert
a *Physical Windows Machine Server 2003* to a RHEV *compatible* VM:

He is using 'Acronis Virtual edition 11' to perform P2V backup

As per their website: acronis can be used for : P2V, V2V, V2P

Customer did a P2V of this Windows server 2003 guest which now works on
'VMware Workstation' successfully!!

To make it work on RHEV, he does a :

virt-v2v -f virt-v2v.conf -o rhev -osd zenoss:/RHEV/VMExport Win2003

which fails with the following error:

virt-v2v: No root device found in this operating system image.

After a bit of googling, Got weird answers (none in particular to Linux(RHEL)) related to this error.
* This error was observed with v2v when there was a RAID setup [windows+RAID]?
* This error was observed when v2v detected RAID entries in /etc/fstab of the linux guests (windows partition table) ?

Currently I am referring to : https://access.redhat.com/kb/docs/DOC-50007 which seems like a good option with KVM.
And I guess - this should work in RHEV as well having the backup image exported to ISO-Domain and then performing a CD-ROM based installation.

Any help is a welcome.

Cheers,
--Anand
