Another version of RNG adaptation.

If you find this the right approach, please push as I don't
have commit access (yet :) ).

NB: As I was at this, there is something we should do about
<x-*/> elements as RNG doesn't allow regexp over element
names so we will constantly get errors about unknown child
element. My suggestion is to switch to <x name="[a-z]+"/>.
Thoughts?
