Yes, I agree with that. We don't do that at the moment in KDE, but I think we 
should.

In KDE we fetch the URL first and then decide which application to start. So 
we do know the mimetype. But as I said above, I think it would make sense if 
it was possible to skip this step and configure that all http-links should be 
opened with e.g. mozilla (regardless of the mimetype)
